EUCOFEL Aisbl is the European Fruit and Vegetables Trade Association in the fresh produce industry, based in Brussels.
EUCOFEL represents National Associations of the fruit and vegetables producers and exporters of Spain, Greece, Italy and Germany which account 30% of the total production of fresh F&V sector.
The aim of EUCOFEL is to keep the European Fruit and Vegetable Trade informed on the European and abroad fruit and vegetables sector, especially the functioning of EC internal market (controls); the harmonisation of MRL’s and phytosanitary issues; the access to third countries of the produce, and the export among others.

Some activities of EUCOFEL are:

  • Meetings related with the trade of fruit and vegetables (FWG Citrus, FWG Apples and Pears, FWG Peaches and Nectarines, FWG Tomatoes and the Advisory Group of Fruit and vegetables).
  • Meetings with the members of the Association (General Assembly, technical meetings).
  • various dissemination strategies including a website: www.eucofel.org, an Information Bulletin (monthly edition) and an Eucofel Position Paper.

TRAFOON Successful Open Innovation case:

Dirfis Mushrooms in close collaboration with scientists from the University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart) Germany developed dried mushroom products, naturally-enriched with vitamin D in a sustainable way using a innovative solar drying technology.
