Faculty of Agriculture

The Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, is the largest of three faculties for the agricultural sciences in Serbia with 282 teaching and research staff working in eight institutes focusing on crop science, fruit science and viticulture, animal science, land management, plant and food protection, agricultural engineering, food technology and agricultural economics. Current research and development areas at the FA include EU-funded projects on building the capacity of institutions supporting innovation in the food sector, knowledge transfer to the food sector, building of IT infrastructure, establishing of the new, up-todate equipped laboratories, particularly in the food domain, safe food production, crop water management, aquaculture, agropolicy, agrobusiness and rural development. The faculty is Serbia’s most successful faculty in terms of number of FP6 and FP7 projects so far. The Faculty has 2 Centres of Excellence created through EU FP projects: FP6 - CROPWAT (crop water management) and FP7 - ROSA (aquaculture).

TRAFOON Successful Open Innovation case:

Dirfis Mushrooms in close collaboration with scientists from the University of Hohenheim (Stuttgart) Germany developed dried mushroom products, naturally-enriched with vitamin D in a sustainable way using a innovative solar drying technology.
